The beginnings of the VIP

On 4th April 1998 a consultation process began with the leaders of the main Vincentian organisations in Britain to explore the setting up of a Joint Vincentian Justice and Peace Desk for Great Britain. A feasibility study was carried out and the final recommendations concluded that a pan Vincentian Body should be set up with the following wider remit:
• To foster communication and collaboration
• To foster the spiritual development of its members
• To undertake research and political lobbying
• To set up practical, collaborative projects for vulnerable people
On 23rd September 1999 the leaders of the Vincentian Family approved the setting up of this umbrella body in 2000 with the name Vincentian Millennium Partnership. Since then it has gone from strength to strength.
